Overall Statement

Aroostook County, a place we proudly call home, is seeking local photographers who love capturing imagery of The County and are looking to get their work featured across digital, social, and print media locally and nationally.

Our goal is to expand the Aroostook County Tourism photo library, focusing on images that feature faces and capture people enjoying themselves in the County.

We are looking to acquire images in two ways:

If you are a photographer (professional or by hobby) and have high-resolution images you would like to share, we will be building an online photo library we welcome you to contribute to. If your photo is chosen for use in our marketing, we will provide photographer credit, and if online, tag your social media channels.
We have several seasonal activities and events we would like to visually capture for our marketing efforts and will be scheduling and coordinating shoots. If you are interested in photographing one of our shoots, please submit a link to your portfolio. Shoots will be no more than 2 hours at a rate of $400 per shoot. All photos from the shoot will be provided digitally, with a minimum of 25 edited images.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

If I submit photos to the asset library, will I be paid for my images if they are used?
No, images submitted to the asset library will not receive compensation however, Aroostook County Tourism will ensure the photographer is credited when the image is used. This is a great opportunity for up-and-coming photographers looking to get their name out, or for long-time photographers looking to increase their following. Plus, you help us share the beauty of The County so more people can enjoy our wonderful community.

If I submit photos to the asset library, will I be notified if my image is used?
Yes! Aroostook County Tourism will send an email to you letting you know. You will receive a photographer credit and if your image is used on digital or social, we will link to your website or social profile of your choice.

I’m interested in a paid photoshoot for Aroostook County Tourism. What are the requirements?
We are not limiting submissions to professional photographers, but require that selected applicants have professional equipment to shoot and edit with (camera phones and Instagram filters don’t count). The images you produce must be high resolution (at least 4MB) and we will want to see your portfolio or work samples.

You are doing several shoots; if I am selected, do I get to do them all?
Maybe. Currently, we are looking to work with as many talented local photographers as possible and would like to have a different photographer for each shoot. However, if upon looking at your portfolio and speaking with you about the opportunity we fall in love with your work, we may choose to go with just one photographer.

What is required of me if I book the paid shoot?
If you are selected, Aroostook County Tourism will work with you to schedule the shoot. We are open to ideas and creative direction. The shoot will be no longer than 2 hours. Within two weeks, we ask to have all photos from the shoot provided digitally, with a minimum of 25 edited images.
